SEN Teaching Assistant
We are currently seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our welcoming specialist SEN schools. Location: London, SE20
Start Date: September 2026
Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £85 - £105 Per Day (Depending on Experience)
Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with Special Educational Needs on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Support children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and other additional learning needs.
- Encourage pupils' confidence, independence and personal development.
- Help create a safe, positive and nurturing learning environment.
- Support pupils during classroom activities, break times and educational activities.
- Assist with personal care and daily routines where required.
- Promote positive behaviour and support pupils with emotional regulation.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other professionals to support each child's individual learning journey.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
About You:
- A genuine passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
- Experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, coaching, care or support setting is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, caring and compassionate approach.
- The ability to remain calm, positive and adaptable in different situations.
- A willingness to learn and develop within an SEN environment.
- Experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH or additional learning needs would be advantageous but is not essential.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is welcomed but not essential.
