Fixed Term Contract – 18 Months 21 Hours Per Week
Tower Hamlets is seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Pavilion Manager to help drive change and the commercial growth of two venues located within Tower Hamlets Mile End Park.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the operation and promotion of the Ecology Pavilion and Art Pavilion, driving income generation, improving customer experience and implementing more efficient ways of working. We are looking for someone who can combine strong operational management with a commercial mindset to maximise venue utilisation, develop new income opportunities and support the delivery of a sustainable and high-performing service.
What You'll Do
- Lead the day-to-day management of the Council's Pavilion venues and associated hire activities.
- Drive income growth through increased commercial hire, venue promotion and business development initiatives.
- Develop and implement more efficient operational processes, improving customer experience and service performance.
- Use data, benchmarking and market insight to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
- Manage casual staff, contractors and service providers to deliver high-quality events and venue operations.
- Oversee health and safety compliance, maintenance reporting and venue standards.
- Support marketing and promotional activity across digital and social media platforms.
- Build strong relationships with customers, community groups, event organisers and corporate clients.
- Produce operational and performance reports to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
- Champion a culture of accountability, excellent customer service and commercial awareness.
What We're Looking For
You will be a proactive and solutions-focused professional with experience of managing venues, events, visitor facilities or commercial spaces.
You will bring:
- Experience of delivering operational improvements and driving service efficiencies.
- A track record of income generation, business development or increasing venue utilisation.
- Experience managing events, venue operations, contractors or customer-facing services.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements within public-facing venues.
- Experience using marketing, promotional and social media channels to attract customers.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer experiences and improving outcomes for residents, visitors and venue users.
- The ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.
