Job Summary
We are seeking a professional, reliable, and compassionate Bus Driver to join our team operating a dedicated NHS transport contract. You will provide vital, safe, and punctual transport services for patients, staff, or visitors between NHS sites and local community hubs.This role features a stable Monday-to-Friday schedule.
Please note this is a split-shift position with a 4.5-hour unpaid afternoon break, making it ideal for local drivers who want a long afternoon gap to rest, run errands, or return home between runs.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe Transit: Operate a D-category minibus safely, smoothly, and in accordance with all road traffic laws.
- Patient & Staff Care: Provide excellent customer service, assisting passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle safely.
- Schedule Adherence: Maintain strict punctuality to ensure passengers arrive at medical appointments and shifts on time.
- Vehicle Checks: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections, reporting any defects immediately.
- Cleanliness: Ensure the interior and exterior of the minibus remain clean, tidy, and hygienic.
- Compliance: Maintain accurate driving logs and comply with tachograph regulations where applicable.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Licence: Valid UK Driving Licence with Category D entitlement.
- CPC: Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) card.
- Digital Tachograph: Valid Digital Tachograph card.
- Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of professional driving experience is preferred.
- Background Check: Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check due to working on an NHS contract.
- Skills: Excellent communication skills, a patient demeanor, and strong geographical knowledge of the local area.
