About Us
We are a specialist engineering company designing and manufacturing bespoke robotic automation systems for industrial customers. Our projects include robotic palletising, depalletising, packaging, material handling, and end-of-line automation solutions delivered to customers across the UK and internationally.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our workshop team in Havant.
The Role
This is primarily a workshop-based position where you will be responsible for the mechanical assembly of custom-built automation equipment and robotic cells. The role also includes occasional customer site visits to support machine installation, commissioning, and final mechanical adjustments.
You will work closely with our Mechanical Design, Electrical and Controls teams to ensure machines are built to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical assembly of bespoke automation machinery and robotic cells
- Build equipment from engineering drawings and assembly documentation
- Install conveyors, guarding, robot bases, tooling and mechanical assemblies
- Assemble pneumatic components and mechanical systems
- Use a wide range of hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- Carry out mechanical testing and quality checks
- Support factory acceptance testing (FAT)
- Attend customer sites for installation, machine build completion and commissioning support when required
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Machine Builder or Automation Fitter
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings
- Competent using hand tools and power tools
- Good mechanical assembly skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Experience building automated machinery or robotic systems
- Experience with packaging, palletising or manufacturing equipment
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems
- Forklift or overhead crane experience
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites within the UK and overseas
