Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit warehouse operative to support our loading and packing operation.
The hours for this role are Monday to Thursday 8am - 4:30pm and 8am - 3:30 on Friday.
The successful candidate will be responsible for handling materials, managing stock, and supporting shipping and receiving operations within a busy warehouse environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills mechanical knowledge, contributing to the efficient flow of goods and materials. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with previous warehouse experience or those eager to learn.
Responsibilities
- Performing heavy lifting tasks safely, adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Hanging material on our paint line.
- Possibility of some light production work on our shutter line (full in-house training will be provided)
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and effectively
- Handling materials efficiently, including loading, unloading, and moving stock within the warehouse
- Conducting quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards
- Assisting with shipping and receiving procedures, including documentation and labeling
- Supporting general warehouse maintenance to maintain a clean and safe working environment
Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence an advantage
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for operating equipment such as forklifts
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for picking, packing and accurately filling in paperwork.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting and load & unload tasks regularly
- Previous experience in a warehouse setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations related to warehousing operations
