RTS Forestry are seeking an Infrastructure Assistant Project Manager / Project Support professional to join our expanding Infrastructure team. This role will support the delivery of forestry clearance, civils work and other activities for some of the UK's largest renewable energy and transmission projects.
Working alongside experienced project managers and consultants, you will play a key role in coordinating projects from initial instruction through to successful completion. The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a career within one of the fastest-growing areas of the forestry sector.
The successful candidate will assist in the planning, coordination and administration of multiple projects across Scotland. Responsibilities will include programme management, client liaison, contractor coordination, document preparation, budgeting, reporting and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
You will work closely with our experienced forestry and infrastructure consultants while also developing relationships with clients, contractors, landowners and statutory bodies. As your experience grows, you will have the opportunity to take increasing responsibility for managing your own projects.
RTS Forestry are recognised as one of Scotland's leading forestry consultants and are at the forefront of delivering forestry solutions for renewable energy, electricity transmission and other nationally significant infrastructure projects. With a growing workload and long-term framework appointments, this is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and respected team within the sector.
Our recent growth can be attributed to being a supportive, approachable and collaborative business for all our clients and staff, and the successful candidate will be expected to contribute positively to that environment. We are seeking someone who is flexible, positive and willing to support both senior and junior colleagues/contractors wherever needed, with a practical, can-do attitude and a genuine commitment to working as part of a team. Technical skills can be developed, but a positive outlook and the ability to build good relationships with clients, contractors and colleagues are essential.
Experience in project management, forestry, construction, engineering, utilities or environmental consultancy would be advantageous, although we are equally interested in candidates who demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills and are keen to develop their career.
The role will involve:
· Supporting the delivery of infrastructure and forestry projects across Scotland.
· Assisting with project planning, programming and financial management.
· Liaising with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
· Preparing reports, work instructions and project documentation.
· Monitoring project progress and ensuring key milestones are achieved.
· Supporting procurement and contractor management.
· Site visits throughout Scotland.
We are looking for someone with:
· Excellent organisational and communication skills.
· Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office and potentially QGIS
· The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
· A positive, self-motivated attitude.
· Full UK driving licence.
· Experience in project management or the infrastructure, forestry or environmental sectors would be beneficial but is not essential.
At RTS Forestry, we value the unique skills and talents of every team member. We are committed to supporting your professional development through mentoring, training and assistance towards relevant professional qualifications where appropriate.
Joining RTS Forestry is an opportunity to work on nationally important projects within a supportive and experienced team that encourages personal development and career progression.
