As an Engineering Shift Supervisor at our Brighton Depot, you will lead a team of skilled engineers operating on a 7-on/3-off and 7-on/4-off rotating shift pattern, covering both early and late shifts. We are seeking a proactive and highly motivated individual with strong leadership abilities who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and ensure the depot receives effective engineering support at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee engineering staff during your shift, ensuring safe working practices, high performance standards, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor maintenance schedules, vehicle inspections, and quality assurance checks to ensure fleet reliability.
- Manage vehicle availability targets while minimising lost mileage and downtime.
- Take responsibility for completing and maintaining all required documentation, including 24-hour sheets, inspection records, driver defect reports, and audit paperwork.
- Maintain effective communication with internal departments, contractors, breakdown services, and colleagues.
- Ensure the security of the depot and promote a safe working environment for all employees.
- Provide operational support and cover colleagues' duties when required.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements, including Health & Safety and Data Protection regulations.
- Carry out vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs as necessary.
- Attend roadside breakdowns and provide technical support when required.
Requirements:
- Full UK manual driving licence (PCV licence and IRTEC accreditation would be advantageous).
- Previous engineering or vehicle maintenance experience, with NVQ Level 3 qualification desirable.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and willingness to undertake further training.
Pay: £29.26 per hour
