Bookkeeper / Accounts Administrator (Part Time)
We are looking for a part-time Bookkeeper to join our small, friendly office team (approximately 18 hours per week, although this may be flexible for the right candidate).
We are a long-established local Electrical Contracting business, trading for over 25 years, and we pride ourselves on being a reliable, down-to-earth company with a strong team around us. Our office is a relaxed, non-corporate environment, and we are looking for someone who is happy to work as part of a small team where everyone helps each other out.
The role would suit someone who is organised, reliable, and experienced in day-to-day bookkeeping duties. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and helping to ensure the smooth running of the company's accounts function.
Responsibilities
- Processing supplier invoices using Sage 50 Accounts Essentials, including monthly payments
- Managing subcontractor payments, including CIS deductions
- Preparing and submitting monthly CIS returns
- Preparing VAT returns
- Carrying out bank reconciliations
- Credit control and monitoring outstanding customer accounts
- Maintaining accurate accounting records and financial data
- Assisting with general accounts administration
- Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and customers regarding account queries
- Supporting the office team with any other duties as required
Skills & Experience
- Previous bookkeeping experience is essential
- Experience using Sage 50 Accounts Essentials
- Good understanding of VAT procedures
- Experience dealing with CIS deductions and monthly CIS returns
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good computer skills and confident use of Microsoft Office
- Organised and able to manage workloads effectively
- Able to work well in a small team
- Experience within the construction industry would be advantageous
About the role
This is a part-time position of approximately 18 hours per week. We can offer flexibility around how these hours are worked and are happy to discuss this with the right candidate.
The role is based in our office in Blackburn, Aberdeenshire, working alongside a small and friendly team.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, conscientious, and happy to work in a hands-on environment rather than a large corporate office. The successful candidate will play an important role in the day-to-day financial administration of the business and will become a valued member of our team.
