De Montfort Hall is nestled at the edge of the city's leafy Victoria Park and has acted as a cultural beacon for the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and beyond for nearly 110 years. Since its opening in 1913, the hall and gardens has held music concerts, royal visits, comedy shows, company dances, political meetings, and election ballots. It is a vibrant and exciting place to work with a real variety.
The Haymarket Theatre is situated in Leicester City Centre next to the Haymarket Shopping Centre and was opened in 1974 until 2007 as a working Theatre. The Theatre is currently used as a Dance School with occasional evening Dance shows.
Join us to be a part of a welcoming and friendly team. You’ll work in a busy, fast paced environment to prepare and serve drinks and snacks in one of the bars before, during and after the event. You’ll ensure stocks are available. You’ll carry out remedial cleaning and manual handling to ensure a clean, presentable environment. This will include mopping up spills, cleaning touch points, loading and unloading dishwashers, collecting used glasses, and cleaning the bar.
With proven experience in a bar and catering environment, you’ll have experience of cash/card handling. You’ll have good written and verbal communication skills and be highly numerate to calculate and reconcile your till. Using excellent communication skills, you’ll work with accuracy and speed to ensure customers are served in an efficient manner.
With the benefit of being a casual worker, you’ll have the opportunity to work as many shifts as you would like but will be dependent on the programme of event that are scheduled. Shifts may be during the day and evening, from Monday to Sunday.
As the role requires serving alcoholic drinks, you must be over 18 years of age.
