Relief Floating Support Workers to join our Relief team, primarily supporting our Newport Floating Support services. You will predominantly work office hours although flexibility is required to meet the needs of our customers.
About the role
This is a Floating Support worker role based in Newport, although Relief staff are able to work in any and all locations. You will provide housing-related support to people who are struggling to maintain their tenancy, are at risk of homelessness, or are currently experiencing homelessness. You will work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, providing tailored support to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals. The aim is to prevent homelessness and empower people to manage their homes independently.
Day to day duties:
- Visit customers, offering information, advice, and practical help at every stage of their resettlement.
- Work closely with other agencies and professionals to ensure customers’ support needs are met.
- Completing administrative tasks, including risk assessments, needs assessments, and support plans.
Monitoring customer outcomes in line with HSG requirements

Skills and Experience Needed
- Relevant work experience and knowledge of issues relating to vulnerable people
- A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible
- An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives
- A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player
- Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations
