Role Overview & Responsibilities
We are looking for a creative, hands-on Marketing and Communications Manager to take day-to-day ownership of Focus Birmingham's marketing and communications activity.
This is a varied role where you will turn our organisational priorities into engaging, accessible and measurable communications that raise awareness of Focus Birmingham, our services and the difference we make.
You will personally plan and deliver content across our website, social media, email communications, newsletters, campaigns, PR and promotional materials. You will develop engaging stories and case studies that showcase our impact, while ensuring content is accessible, inclusive and consistent with our brand and values.
Working collaboratively with teams across Focus Birmingham, you will provide marketing and communications support for fundraising campaigns, recruitment, volunteering, service referrals, partnerships and community engagement.
You will manage our communications and campaign calendar, helping to coordinate activity across the organisation and ensuring priorities are delivered effectively. You will also lead routine PR activity, identify media opportunities and build positive relationships with local media and community partners.
Using website, social media, email and campaign analytics, you will monitor performance, understand what is working and use audience insight to continually improve our approach. You will provide concise quarterly performance reporting and contribute communications evidence to wider organisational and governance reporting.
The role will also oversee agreed marketing and campaign expenditure and coordinate external suppliers such as designers, printers and agencies where required. You may also provide direction and support to marketing or communications volunteers, interns or placements.
Above all, you will help ensure that Focus Birmingham's communications are creative, engaging, accessible and reflective of the people and communities we support.
