We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Slinger Signaller to join our growing team.
Working closely with our Transport Manager, lorry loader operators, and site personnel, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe movement of loads while helping maintain a clean, organised, and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities Slinger Signaller Duties
- Safely guide and coordinate lifting operations.
- Select and use appropriate lifting accessories, including slings, chains and hooks.
- Carry out pre-use inspections of lifting equipment and accessories.
- Communicate effectively with lorry loader operators using recognised hand signals and radio communication.
- Ensure loads are balanced, secure and moved safely.
- Follow lifting plans, risk assessments and method statements.
- Maintain safe work areas by identifying hazards and implementing appropriate controls.
- Monitor lifting activities and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Store and secure lifting equipment correctly after use.
Preferred Skills & Experience Required
- Current ALLMI or CPCS Slinger/Signaller Card.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements, including LOLER regulations.
- Strong communication skills and situational awareness.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Reliable, hardworking and punctual.
- Ability to work independently using your own initiative.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in lifting operations, construction, transport or plant environments.
- Experience working around lorry loaders or crane operations.
