Estimator - Estimating Department

Salary – £35,000 to £40,000 salary - Regular company incentives
Altus Safety is a leading, national, working-at-height subcontractor specialising in permanent roof access & fall protection equipment. Working within a team of estimators and CAD technicians, the estimator will collaborate with BDM’s, projects managers, customers, and suppliers to provide safe, competitive roof access and fall protection
solutions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyse project specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options
- Create and maintain a database of historical cost data for future reference
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as required
- Provide support during the negotiation process
Qualifications/Knowledge Requirements
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents however full training will be given
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Hours of work: Monday - Thursday, 08:00 - 17:00, Friday (work from home), 08.00 - 16.00
