Schools Mutual Services is working OFSTED "Good" secondary school in Dudley to recruit an enthusiastic Secondary English Teacher for a full-time position starting in September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for either an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or an experienced English Teacher looking to join a school with a strong commitment to high-quality teaching, high levels of support and ongoing professional development. The role is initially long-term, with the potential opportunity to secure a permanent contract.

The Role
As a Secondary English Teacher, you'll play a key role in delivering engaging and inspiring English lessons that develop students' confidence in reading, writing and communication while helping them achieve their full potential.
You will teach English Language and English Literature across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging English Language and English Literature lessons
- Teaching students across KS3 and KS4.
- Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
- Assessing, monitoring and reporting on student progress
- Preparing students for GCSE English Language and English Literature examinations
- Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all learners
- Supporting students with SEND, EHCPs and additional learning needs
- Managing behaviour in line with school policies
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers
- Contributing to the wider life of the English department and school community
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, professionalism and student welfare
What we're looking for
We're looking for an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher who is passionate about delivering outstanding secondary education.
You should have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills Status (QTLS), or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching English within UK secondary schools or successful teaching placements
- Strong subject knowledge in English Language and English Literature
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A positive, flexible and proactive approach
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
