We are a mixed practice treating both NHS and private patients while using a fully computerised dental system using SOE software and digital x-rays.

Hours: Apprenticeship, Full Time
Available positions: 2
Salary: £10.85 per hour for the first 12 months
Key responsibilities & duties:
- Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
- Preparing and sterilising instruments and equipment following HTM guidance and protocols
- Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
- Set-up and prepare the surgery for the type of patient and treatment planned
- Clean and sterilise all equipment and working surfaces to the required standards at the end of each session
- Ensure safe disposal of clinical waste
- Continually evaluate the needs of patients and dentist and deal with them promptly and efficiently
- Assist in the completion of patient records
- Monitor and maintain stocks as necessary.
- Ensure that all necessary laboratory work is returned and ready for each session
- Follow all practice policies and procedures and patient confidentiality
- Establish productive working relationships with the dental team
- Take reasonable care for own and others’ health and safety
- Comply with all GDC and CQC requirements
Academic or trade qualifications:
- Maths and English Functional Skills at level 2 essential
- A-level qualification preferred
- IT literate
Work experience and skills:
No work experience necessary

Dental Nursing level 3
