The role
This is far more than a traditional finance position.
You'll have responsibility for the complete finance function, working closely with our Directors to provide financial insight, improve processes and support strategic decision-making.
Supported by our external accountants, you'll ensure the business operates efficiently while identifying opportunities to strengthen financial performance and controls.
You'll enjoy significant autonomy and the chance to make this role your own.
What you'll be doing
You'll be responsible for:
- Managing the company's complete finance function
- Producing monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Preparing year-end accounts for external review
- Managing budgets, cash flow forecasting and financial planning
- Preparing and submitting VAT and VAT MOSS returns
- Processing monthly payroll, expenses and sales commissions
- Managing pension administration with outsourced specialists
- Overseeing sales and purchase ledgers across multiple currencies
- Maintaining effective credit control
- Providing financial analysis and commercial advice to Directors
- Supporting Board and senior management meetings
- Producing ad hoc financial reports and analysis
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, controls and processes
- Assisting with wider office management where required
About you
You'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership and thrives in a hands-on environment.
You'll bring:
- ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification
- Experience managing a complete finance function
- Strong knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Payroll
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience working with multiple currencies
- Excellent analytical and commercial thinking
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- A proactive, self-motivated approach
- The confidence to work independently while collaborating with colleagues at every level
- A positive mindset and enthusiasm for improving processes
