About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the quality function within our manufacturing facilities at Royton and Chadderton.
You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality management systems that ensure products consistently meet customer, regulatory, and internal standards. You will be responsible for managing the team of 7 Quality Technicians on the Royton and Chadderton sites.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can balance strategic oversight with day-to-day problem solving on the shop floor.
A driving licence and own transport is essential for the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with relevant standards (e.g. ISO 9001)
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes for non-conformances and customer complaints
- Manage internal and external audits, including liaising with certification bodies and customers
- Monitor production processes and product quality through inspections, testing, and statistical process control (SPC)
- Set and track key quality KPIs (e.g. scrap rates, first-pass yield, customer returns) and report to senior management
- Lead, train, and develop the quality team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues
- Manage supplier quality, including audits and performance reviews
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations as they relate to quality processes
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quality Manager or similar role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and standards (ISO 9001, BRC, or industry-specific equivalents)
- Experience with root cause analysis tools
- Familiarity with quality control methodologies
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Qualifications in Quality Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong IT skills
