Salary: £30,030 FTE (£16,016 pro rata)

Safeguarding
Safeguarding is at the heart of Home-Start Warrington and Cheshire. All employees are expected to have knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures and to always comply with best safeguarding practice, immediately reporting any concerns regarding safeguarding and child protection or the protection of vulnerable adults to the Designated Safeguarding Lead and/or Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Purpose of the Role
To lead the delivery of the Parent Infant Mental Health (PIMH) project funded through NHS Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board, supporting new parents and infants across Leftwich and Northwich through group work and early intervention support.
The postholder will support parents to understand attachment, bonding and infant emotional development, helping families build secure and positive relationships with their babies while improving parent wellbeing and reducing isolation.
The role will involve direct work with families, partnership working with local services including midwifery and Starting Well teams, delivery of group sessions, volunteer support, and collection of monitoring and evaluation data required under the grant agreement.
Main Responsibilities
Support for Families
- Deliver specialist parent infant mental health support to families during pregnancy and the early years.
- Provide emotional wellbeing support to new parents through home visiting and group-based interventions.
- Support parents to understand attachment, bonding, responsive parenting and infant emotional development.
- Model positive parent-child interactions through play and relationship-based approaches.
- Assess family needs and identify appropriate support pathways.
- Maintain regular reviews of family progress and outcomes.
- Deliver parent infant mental health group sessions within community settings.
- Support families experiencing isolation, low confidence, emotional wellbeing difficulties or challenges adjusting to parenthood.
- Ensure support is inclusive, accessible and responsive to family need.
- Support families to access additional community and health services where appropriate.
Partnership Working
- Develop positive working relationships with midwifery services, Starting Well teams, children’s centres and other local partners.
- Attend partnership meetings and represent Home-Start Warrington and Cheshire professionally.
- Promote awareness of the Parent Infant Mental Health project within the community.
- Work collaboratively with professionals to ensure families receive the right support at the right time.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Grant Delivery
- Ensure delivery of the project in line with the NHS grant agreement outcomes and objectives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, case notes and attendance records.
- Collect monitoring and evaluation data including questionnaires, feedback, case studies and outcome measures.
- Contribute to reports demonstrating project impact including improvements in parent wellbeing, reduced isolation and increased opportunities for social connection.
- Support the completion of annual reports and other monitoring required by funders.
- Ensure all work complies with Home-Start policies, safeguarding procedures, confidentiality and GDPR requirements.
Volunteer Support
- Work alongside volunteers supporting families within the project.
- Assist with volunteer induction, guidance and ongoing support where appropriate.
- Promote safe and effective volunteering practices in line with Home-Start standards.
General Responsibilities
- Work in accordance with Home-Start policies and procedures.
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
- Undertake safeguarding, data protection and other mandatory training.
- Participate in supervision, appraisal and continuing professional development.
- Work flexibly, including occasional evening work where required for groups or partnership meetings.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role and level of responsibility.
