FYP Interventions is an Alternative Learning Provision based in Stoke Gifford, Bristol. We are seeking a dedicated Teaching / Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team (Term time only). A dedicated and compassionate team member to support our team in providing a nurturing and effective learning environment for our children and young people (ages 11 to 18). The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs. As a Teacher/HLTA, you will play a crucial role in assisting in delivery of lessons and ensuring that all students receive the attention they need to thrive. The successful candidate will be able to plan and deliver effective learning activities as well as assess, record and report on pupils' progress.
Key Responsibilities:
Support:
- Assisting in planning and preparing lessons.
- Providing individual or small group support to students.
- Marking and assessing student work as directed.
- Supporting the implementation of behaviour management strategies.
Administrative Support:
- Preparing learning resources and materials.
- Maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Supporting with administrative tasks.
Professional Development:
- Actively seeking opportunities for professional development.
- Keeping up to date with educational developments and best practices.
- Sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues.
Person Specification:
Essential Criteria:
- Experience of working with young people'
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of working in an educational setting and of children with SEN.
- Knowledge of specific teaching strategies and interventions.
- Ability to use a variety of software packages including Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB).
- Knowledge of Functional Skills and ASDAN short courses.
- First aid qualification.
