About the Role
Hybrid Asset Solutions (HAS) is growing, and we're looking for a hands-on Fire & Security Engineer to join our engineering team. This is a newly created role that brings together fire alarm maintenance and fault resolution with CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm installation and maintenance.
As part of our growth strategy, we're bringing more of our fire and security work in-house rather than relying on third-party contractors. This role is central to that plan - reducing our dependency on external specialists, improving response times for clients, and strengthening the service we deliver across our growing portfolio of Build to Rent (BtR) and commercial sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, configure, and maintain fire alarm systems, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across fire and security equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards
- Diagnose and resolve system faults efficiently, minimising downtime and disruption to clients
- Carry out electrical work associated with installations - wiring, connections, and power supply configuration
- Adhere to all relevant safety protocols and regulations during installations and system setups
- Provide technical guidance and basic operational training to client staff on system use and maintenance
- Maintain accurate records of works completed, including job sheets and compliance documentation
- Act as first point of contact for out-of-hours emergency callouts (24-hour on-call rota, week-on/week-off)
- Work collaboratively with the wider FM team, reporting site issues or risks to the relevant manager
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- CSCS card
- Full UK driving licence
- Proven hands-on experience with fire alarm systems
- Proven hands-on experience with CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems
- Strong electrical knowledge - installations, wiring, fault-finding, and troubleshooting
Desirable:
- ECS card
- SSAIB/NSI accreditation (or similar)
- Experience within a facilities management or property management environment
- Familiarity with BtR or commercial property settings
What Success Looks Like
We'll measure your progress against a clear 30/60/90 day plan, with an emphasis on task completion per shift, first-time fix rate, and reduced customer waiting times as you build toward full independence across both fire and security disciplines.
