Job Overview
We are a small rural public house set in the idyllic village of Escomb in the Vale of Durham. Overlooking the Saxon Church, we have two dining areas as well as a bar. 8 beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms allowing us to offer bed and breakfast accommodation.
The position that we are advertising for is a cook, we are looking for someone to join our kitchen team and help develop our food operation to keep us moving forward. Within the role you will be expected to work split shifts for breakfast, lunch and evening meal service. This role will cover weekends as well as some week days.
We are looking for someone with previous experience in a kitchen to join our team/family. Working hours could be either a part time or full time position. Wage is negotiable depending on experience and hours.

Reports to: Claire Modrate
Key purpose of job: To ensure the safe and effective running of the kitchen, meeting all guidelines layout for food service and production
Key Responsibilities and Objectives:
1. Work to guidelines of the Kitchen management policy - Better Food Safer Business.
2. Maintaining good Food Hygiene and Health and Safety standards in accordance with regulations
3. Check deliveries are correct and store stock quickly and efficiently, using the stock rotation methods.
4. The efficient service of food.
5. To be self-motivated, have to ability to make improvements and manage changes.
6. The general cleaning duties in all areas of the kitchen following the cleaning rotas provide.
7. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
8. To meet and greet customers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and positive manner.
9. Reliable and punctual.
10. To attend staff training/ monthly staff meeting sessions and have a willingness to learn.
