We are looking for an ambitious and commercially focused Retail Area Manager to oversee a portfolio of our busy souvenir stores across Edinburgh. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Scotland's leading retail businesses, where no two days are the same.
As an Area Manager, you will be responsible for leading multiple store teams, ensuring operational excellence, maximising sales performance, and creating memorable experiences for the thousands of visitors who shop with us each year.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading, motivating and developing Store Managers and their teams to achieve outstanding results.
- Driving sales, profitability and KPI performance across your portfolio of stores.
- Monitoring and improving customer service standards to deliver an exceptional shopping experience.
- Conducting regular store visits to coach, support and challenge your management teams.
- Ensuring stores consistently meet company standards for merchandising, stock control, housekeeping and compliance.
- Recruiting, training and developing future retail leaders.
- Managing labour costs and scheduling to maximise productivity.
- Supporting new store openings and business growth initiatives.
- Working closely with HR, Payroll, Operations and Senior Management to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensuring compliance with all company policies, health & safety legislation and employment procedures.
- Analysing commercial performance and producing action plans to improve results.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience managing multiple retail stores or a high-volume flagship retail environment.
- A proven track record of increasing sales and delivering commercial success.
- Inspirational leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience managing KPIs, budgets and labour costs.
- A hands-on management style with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Flexibility to travel regularly between stores across Edinburgh.
