We have an exciting opportunity for an Estimator & Designer to join our close knit team, specializing in the manufacture of MFC/MDF Case Goods & cabinetry, predominantly for the Hospitality and Student accommodation sectors. You will be responsible for producing cost estimates and formal quotes, along with detailed, accurate designs to meet customer and business requirements.
We are looking for an individual with a natural ability to build rapport and communicate with customers, providing them with technical knowledge and experience to drive opportunities across our market sector.
Role Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Liaising with customers both in person and over the phone to forge strong relationships.
- Review Technical Drawings & Specifications: Analyze and interpret detailed technical drawings and specifications to accurately estimate the materials, labour, and time required for projects.
- Preparing internal drawings for customer sign-off.
- Calculating project costs, including material quantities, labour rates, and other resources. Developing comprehensive and accurate cost breakdowns and quotations.
- Understand and interpret customer requirements to provide tailored, efficient, and professional estimates and designs, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Working collaboratively with clients and the sales & operations team to ensure designs are designed for manufacture (value engineering), cost-effective, and in line with company KPIs and budgetary requirements.
Skills Required
- Good understanding of IT (use of Microsoft Office 365 suite) is (Essential.)
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or relevant software such as SWOOD Design or Cabinet Vision. (Essential)
- Confident written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required to liaise with colleagues and customers.
- Ability to work as part of a team in an open office environment but also be self-motivated to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
- Passionate about exceeding customer expectations and providing excellent customer service.
- Experience within the Case Goods furniture sector would be desirable.
- Experience is preferred; however, development junior and training roles will be considered.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to £30,000.00 per year
