Description:
Hydracrat are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our team of geotechnical and exploration drillers.
Experience in land drilling would be beneficial but not essential and newcomers to the industry are welcome to apply.
Successful candidates can expect training and opportunities to develop their skills towards becoming a Lead Driller.
Hydracrat operate predominantly across the central belt in areas such as Ayrshire, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Edinburgh, Lothians and Fife.
Candidates residing close to our base in Cleland can expect the majority of sites to be within commuting distance from home. Overnight stays away from home may be required on occasion.
Regular projects will include ground investigations, water wells and geothermal. The Assistant Driller will be expected to work with the Lead Driller to ensure techniques for rotary open-hole, rotary core and borehole installations are deployed to a high standard.
Suitable candidates will ideally have some relevant experience in the drilling industry, but this is not essential.
Additional requirements:
- Must have a full UK driver’s licence and access to transport to get to our premises in Cleland if required.
- Must be safety aware and prepared to work on strictly managed sites.
- Prepared to work away from home when required
- Comfortable working in a busy environment with lifting/shifting of tools and heavy loads.
- Must be a comfortable working as part of a team.
- Experience in operating a mechanical digger and machinery may be a distinct advantage, but is not essential.
Relevant qualifications include: CSCS, NVQ, CPCS, NRSWA, Manual Handling, First Aid, etc. but training can be provided to suitable candidates.
