As Senior Health and Safety Advisor you will work collaboratively with the on-site Health, Safety and Environmental department, operational teams and wider project stakeholders to support the safe and compliant delivery of WJ Logistics activities.
You will provide professional, competent and visible health, safety and environmental support within a safety-critical construction logistics environment.
What we can offer you:
Salary starting from £60,000.00 per annum, plus a guaranteed monthly bonus of 8.65%.
Travel and lodge allowance: Where applicable, you may receive money towards local accommodation, plus a payment for one journey home and back each month and a monthly bus travel allowance from Bridgwater to the project.
For local employees, you may receive a monthly bus travel allowance from your local park & ride to the project.
Working an average of 45 hours per week, on a 9-day fortnightly working pattern (Monday - Friday on week one, then Monday - Thursday on week two).

What we need from you:
Strong working knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation and construction industry requirements, with the confidence to advise operational leaders on practical compliance.
Demonstrable experience in a multi-disciplinary, safety-critical construction, infrastructure or logistics environment, preferably within a senior advisor or lead advisor capacity.
Ability to review, challenge and improve RAMS and safe systems of work relevant to complex site activities.
An understanding of the principles of equality and diversity in relation to visitors' and employees'

Essential
CITB Managers and Professional (MAPS) Test - must be obtained before the start date.
Level 3 NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate, or equivalent accredited Health & Safety qualification, must be obtained before the start date; Level 6 qualification or working towards is desirable for senior-level progression.
Significant previous Health & Safety experience, including advisory responsibility within construction, infrastructure, logistics or another safety-critical environment.
Professional Membership: TechIOSH as a minimum, or actively working towards GradIOSH / CertIOSH status.

Knowledge of HPC Site
HPC pass holder
Driving License
SMSTS or SSSTS.
Site Specific Information
You must be able to provide a 3-year work/unemployment/education history required for the vetting process in line with Hinkley Point C protocols
You must be able to obtain the Hinkley Point C pass
The site is located remotely, and a bus journey of approx. 45 minutes each way is required to gain access.
