Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our busy culinary team. Duties
- Washing and sanitising dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils to uphold hygiene standards
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
- Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to ensure a safe working environment
- Supporting the organisation of kitchen supplies and ingredients for efficient workflow
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Helping with the setup and breakdown of dining areas during service times when required
- Supporting the team during busy periods to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Skills
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key
- Good organisational skills with an eye for cleanliness and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures within a kitchen environment
