We’re looking for a Senior Communications and Marketing Officer to plan and lead our Restore Nature communications and marketing for Mid & South Wales Countryside and Pembrokeshire & Carmarthen Bay.
These two significant coast and countryside landscapes are at the heart of our urgent work in Wales to restore nature at scale. This is an exciting opportunity to help grow support for this ambitious work, sharing positive nature recovery stories across a range of channels and connecting people with nature, beauty and history.
Salary: £22,089.60 per annum (pro-rated for 30 hrs/week), based on a full-time equivalent salary of £27,612 per annum
Contract Duration: Permanent
Working Pattern: You will work 30 hours per week . Your working pattern can be flexible between Monday and Friday, with a mix of home working and time spent at National Trust Cymru places. We’ll discuss this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to spend at least one day each week on site within either of the coast and countryside areas, such as Stackpole, Rhosili or Dan Y Gyrn near Brecon. You’ll also have access to an office hub at Dinefwr, near Llandeilo.
Interviews will be held mid-end September. As part of the interview process, you will be required to complete a short task.

Reporting to the Communications and Marketing Delivery Partner for Restore Nature in Wales, you’ll work closely with colleagues across the region to help deliver our charity’s strategic goals. Working across two diverse portfolios of distinctive places and collaborating with a wide range of people and teams, you’ll enjoy a varied role where no two days are the same.

What you'll be doing:You’ll lead Restore Nature communications and marketing activity across both portfolios, tailoring national strategy to local audiences and portfolio priorities.
At Mid & South Wales Countryside, you’ll help share stories of peatland restoration, habitat reconnection and partnership projects across iconic landscapes, including Bannau Brycheiniog National Park and the Gower Peninsula, connecting people to these special places and inspiring them to help care for them.
At Pembrokeshire & Carmarthen Bay, you’ll help tell positive nature recovery stories about species recovery, wetland restoration and conservation grazing across coastlines and commons. You’ll also promote events and experiences at treasured locations including the historic Stackpole Estate and tranquil Colby Woodland Garden.
You’ll create nature-focused content across channels including web, social media, email marketing and press, ensuring these stories reach and resonate with a wide audience. Working closely with senior colleagues, you’ll develop key messages and themes, find fresh ways to tell the stories of National Trust Cymru places, and engage audiences with our work to protect nature, beauty and history. This is a creative, fast-paced role balancing proactive and reactive priorities while promoting a wide range of campaigns and place-based stories.

- an experienced communications & marketing professional
- experienced in creating and managing engaging content across a range of digital platforms including web, social media and email marketing, for press and media and on-site materials
- able to plan and develop strategic communication plans and manage reputational risk
- adept at using audience insight to make informed decisions
- skilled at both written and spoken communications
- a collaborative team player, who can also work on your own initiative
- experience of developing ways of working and building relationships with internal teams and external partners
- organised and good at managing multiple priorities efficiently, while prioritising your workload and meeting tight deadlines
