Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Children’s Care Home Practitioner to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care and support to children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) in a residential setting, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to creating a nurturing environment that promotes positive growth and resilience. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young lives through professional care and guidance. Prior experience in childcare, or similar environments is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Care: Supporting children with routines like getting ready for school, mealtimes, and winding down at night.
- Emotional Support: Listening, talking, and helping children manage big feelings with patience and empathy.
- Education & Activities: Encouraging hobbies, new experiences and learning that build confidence and joy.
- Health & Wellbeing: Promoting healthy routines, attending appointments, and supporting medication when needed.
- Positive Behaviour Support: Managing behaviour through positive reinforcement strategies and behaviour management techniques.
- Safeguarding: Ensuring the environment remains safe, clean, and welcoming at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Teamwork: Collaborating with colleagues, families, and external professionals such as healthcare providers or social workers to deliver comprehensive care.
- Recording: Keeping accurate notes on wellbeing, progress and achievements.
- Sleep-In Shifts: Offering calm, reassuring overnight support so children feel safe at all times.
Qualifications and Experience (Desirable):·
- Two years’ experience within Children's homes or working in the Health & Social Care
- Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children’s Residential Services or equivalent
- Educated to a degree level or equivalent
- Hold a Full UK driving licence(Nice to have)
