We're a busy, fast-paced bar and restaurant in the heart of Glasgow City Centre, committed to delivering exceptional food, drinks and customer service. We're looking for an experienced, motivated Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day running of the venue and help lead our team to success.
The Role
As Assistant Manager, you'll work closely with the General Manager to oversee daily operations, maintain high service standards and create a positive, motivating environment for the team. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who leads by example and thrives in a busy hospitality setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the business.
- Lead, motivate and develop the front and back of house teams.
- Deliver outstanding customer service and ensure every guest has a great experience.
- Manage shifts, delegate responsibilities and maintain smooth service.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding and staff training.
- Monitor labour costs and support rota planning.
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health & safety and food hygiene regulations.
- Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally.
- Carry out cash handling, banking and end-of-day procedures.
- Help drive sales through excellent standards, upselling and team performance.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and operational efficiency.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Supervisor or Team Leader within a busy bar, restaurant or hospitality venue.
- A confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
- Strong knowledge of bar and restaurant operations.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- Personal Licence and relevant hospitality qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
