The Governors of Audley Junior School are looking to appoint three enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Support Assistants to work with children in Year 3 with Speech, Language and Communication needs. It is essential that candidates have experience of working on a one-to-one and small group basis with children with special needs. These posts are fixed term contracts for 27.5 hours per week at Level 2.
An ideal candidate will:
- Be an enthusiastic person who enjoys working with Children
- Be someone who is able to work alongside teachers and other SSAs to develop English, Maths and personal skills
- Be Computer literate
- Holds GCSE qualifications in English and Maths (Grade C or above) Certificates will need to be produced at interview
- Have previous experience of working with SEND children in a school setting
- Have initiative and experience of adapting resources for an individual pupil
A SEND Support Assistant plays a vital role in promoting the learning, inclusion, and wellbeing of identified pupils with special educational needs.
The role involves supporting pupils to make academic and personal progress, encouraging positive play and interaction with peers, and fostering social skills, good manners, and healthy habits within a safe and nurturing environment.
