Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Class 2 HGV Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. Duties
- Operate Class 2 HGVs, including flatbed lorries, in compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Deliver goods to specified locations accurately and on schedule, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with legal requirements
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Follow designated routes and schedules, adapting to traffic conditions as needed
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, well-maintained, and compliant with legal standards at all times
Qualifications
- Valid Category C (Class 2) HGV licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly as a delivery driver
- Familiarity with flatbed lorry operations is desirable
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial vehicles
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Ability to work independently and responsibly under pressure
