Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Erector/Floorer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing and finishing flooring and assisting with various aspects of building projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity for those with a background in construction trades to contribute to diverse projects, ensuring quality workmanship and safety standards are met throughout the process.
We are currently working a reduced working week of 29.5 hours but this is expected to increase in the near future to 39 hours Monday to Thursday.
Responsibilities
- Install flooring materials such as hardwood, laminate, tiles, or carpet according to project specifications
- Perform basic carpentry tasks including cutting, measuring, and fitting timber components
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently during installation and assembly processes
- Prepare work sites by cleaning and organising materials and tools before commencing work
- Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within safety guidelines
Skills
- Proven experience in carpentry, roofing, or general construction work.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as saws, hammers, chisels, and screwdrivers
- Skilled in operating power tools including drills, grinders, and saws safely
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to read technical drawings and plans accurately
- Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on safety compliance and attention to detail
- Physical fitness to handle lifting heavy materials and working at heights or in confined spaces as required
