Asset Valuer – Plant, Machinery & Business Assets
London / Midlands | Full Time | £40,000–£60,000 depending on experience
The role will involve working on insolvency-related valuation and disposal instructions across London, the Midlands and the South East, with some travel elsewhere in the UK.
It is a varied, hands-on role. You will be involved in instructions from the initial site visit and preparation of an inventory and valuation, through to online auction and disposal of assets
The work covers a broad range of businesses, plant, machinery and other commercial assets.
The role
Depending on experience, you will be responsible for, or assist with:
- Attending businesses to carry out site inspections and prepare inventories
- Valuing plant, machinery, vehicles, stock, office equipment and other business assets
- Researching comparable sales and market evidence
- Preparing valuation reports for insolvency practitioners
- Preparing and cataloguing assets for online auction, including photographs and descriptions
- Assisting with auction viewings, collections and buyer enquiries
- Coordinating contractors, removals and site clearances
- Managing instructions and working to the tight timescales
About you
We are particularly interested in hearing from people with some experience in asset valuation, auctioneering, insolvency asset sales, plant & machinery or a related area.
You do not need to bring an existing client base. The main requirement is someone who can carry out instructions properly, deal confidently with clients and other parties on site, and take responsibility for their work.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Practical, organised and comfortable working both on site and in the office
- Confident identifying, researching and valuing a range of business assets
- Able to prepare accurate inventories and clear valuation reports
- Comfortable dealing with insolvency practitioners, company directors, purchasers and contractors
- Able to work independently
- Hold a full UK driving licence
RICS, NAVA or other relevant professional qualifications would be welcomed, but are not essential where someone has suitable practical experience.
Experience
We expect the position to suit someone at junior-to-mid level who already has some relevant experience and is looking to develop further.
That said, we would also be interested in speaking to more experienced valuers. For the right person, the role and package can be adjusted to reflect their experience, particularly if they are able to manage more complex instructions independently or already have relationships within the insolvency market.
The successful candidate will get exposure to a wide range of businesses and assets and will be involved throughout the valuation and disposal process, rather than being limited to one particular type of work.
To apply, or if you would prefer an informal and confidential conversation about the role, please send your CV and a brief introduction to [email protected]
