We are looking for a motivated and reliable Vessel Technician to help ensure our fleet, equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest possible standards.
This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys practical tasks and has an interest in marine engineering and maintenance. Every day is different, with responsibilities ranging from preparing vessels for training courses to assisting with mechanical and electrical repairs.
Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Vessel Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be working closely with our Resources Manager, and you will be responsible for ensuring our vessels and training equipment are always presented in first-class condition and ready for use by instructors and students.
Responsibilities
- Preparing training vessels to an exceptional standard before each course.
- Cleaning, maintaining and preparing vessels, equipment and facilities.
- Inspecting, servicing and organising training equipment including lifejackets, liferafts and firefighting equipment.
- Assisting with routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on the fleet.
- Supporting planned maintenance, repairs and refit programmes.
- Carrying out routine checks and reporting defects.
- Maintaining workshops, stores and equipment in a clean, safe and organised condition.
- Assisting with building maintenance as required.
- Supporting instructors with operational requirements where necessary.
Experience
Essential
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads.
- Strong work ethic and pride in maintaining high standards.
- Practical hands-on approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable with good timekeeping.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Desirable
- Marine engineering experience.
- Marine electrical knowledge.
- Experience maintaining powerboats or sailing vessels.
- RYA Powerboat Level 2 or higher.

Working Hours
This is primarily a Monday to Friday position. However, due to the nature of the maritime training industry, occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support vessel operations and training schedules.
Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
