Support Worker – Jay Fostering, Leicestershire

Area: Office Based in Leicestershire with travel across the East and West Midlands

Salary £17,000 to £20,000 depending upon experience

Hours of work: 37.5 hours

Jay Fostering is a Fostering Agency that has been operating from 2004. We are part of the National Fostering Agency Group and while we retain our own identify we have benefited from the support of NFA’s services including working with several other acquired fostering agencies nationwide.

We are seeking a dynamic, self motivated, enthusiastic. conscientious and creative Support Worker to work closely with our team of Supervising Social Workers and Foster Carers to ensure high quality care and outcomes for the children in placement with Jay Fostering

The Support Worker will have responsibility for driving forward the agencies Participation and Engagement Strategy for Children and Young People placed with the agency. The work will include extensively working with children and young people, organising appropriate events and activities for children and young people, conveying various Children’s Forums and Groups as well as being involved in one to one direct work, transporting as necessary and supervising family contacts .

The Support Worker will also operate to provide proactive and practical support, advice and guidance to the agencies foster carers as may be necessary from time to time and work as part of a professional team. .

You will need to have experience of working within the childcare or education sector and be able to work independently with the ability to manage your time effectively. You must be able to demonstrate multi tasking and decision making skills. You will be required to have excellent communication skills and a professional approach to working with people and children from diverse backgrounds. You will also need to be IT literate, have a full driving licence and your own transport.
