Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage time effectively. Multi drop deliveries in Scotland (Excluding Inverness and beyond) Mon-Thu 7-4.30 pm Fri-7-2.30pm (Backshift week once every 8 weeks 4.00pm-2.00am) Pension Year 1 Employer contribution 3% thereafter 8.7%, Death in service 4 times annual salary, Curtain sided vehicles loaded by warehouse backshift (Ready to go in morning) 95% forklift loading/unloading.
Responsibilities
- Operate lorries in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Safely load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing of cargo.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery notes and logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures while on the road.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries.
Skills
- Proven experience(Preferred) as a multi drop Driver or in a similar role.
- Strong commercial driving skills with a valid HGV Class 2 driving licence.
- Experience operating curtain sided lorries is an advantage.
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with local routes.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding safety protocols.
- Good communication skills.
