About Us
Monument Property Maintenance is a fast-growing, multi-trade property services company working with letting agents, landlords, block managers and private clients across York, Selby, Leeds and surrounding areas. We specialise in responsive repairs, planned maintenance, damp diagnostics, minor works and small refurbishments.
We are expanding our engineering team and looking for a reliable, skilled and hardworking Property Maintenance Engineer to join us.
The Role
You will carry out a variety of maintenance tasks across residential properties, including:
- General plumbing repairs (tap changes, leaks, traps, blockages, toilet repairs)
- Carpentry & joinery (doors, skirtings, trims, basic structural repairs)
- Basic electrical works (swaps, isolations, fault-finding to competency level)
- Damp investigation & reporting
- Bathroom & kitchen minor works
- Decorating touch-ups following repairs
- Responsive call-outs and emergency repairs
- Completing job sheets, photos, and client sign-offs
- Working in occupied tenanted properties with professionalism at all times
The role is mobile and requires travel across York, Selby, Leeds and surrounding areas.
What We’re Looking For
- Multi-skilled maintenance background
- Strong plumbing and joinery skills essential
- Experience working in domestic settings (tenanted properties preferred)
- Ability to diagnose issues and complete remedial works
- Good communication and customer-facing skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work alone and as part of a wider team
- A problem-solver who takes pride in quality workmanship
Desirable (not essential):
- Experience writing basic reports
- Damp or leak diagnostics background
- Part P knowledge
- Willingness to be part of an out-of-hours rota
