Responsibilities
- Operate curtain-sided lorries for long-distance deliveries, adhering to all safety protocols and traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and roadworthiness
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel consumption
- Load and unload goods safely, ensuring proper securing of cargo during transit
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including delivery notes and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules, delays, or issues encountered on the road
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to commercial driving and transportation regulations
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, Nationally and preferably in Europe
- Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards within the UK transport industry
- Previous experience operating in Europe is highly desirable
- Familiarity with route planning and navigation tools
- Demonstrated ability to manage long hours on the road while maintaining professionalism and safety standards
This position requires a dedicated individual with excellent driving skills, organisational abilities, and a commitment to safe transportation practices. Applicants should possess relevant experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles, and have a valid Class 1 driving licence, CPC and tacho card.
