We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and organised Activity Assistant to support the running of activities and events for the people we support. This is a rewarding role where you will help promote the wellbeing, social interaction and enjoyment for the people Cartrefi supports.
Working closely with the Activity Coordinator, you will help deliver safe, inclusive and person-centred activities that reflect individual needs, preferences and abilities.

Role: Activity Assistant
Location: Bridgend and the Vale of Glamorgan. You will be expected to travel to venues across Bridgend and the Vale of Glamorgan as required.
Hours: 30 hours a week, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Salary: £13.59 an hour
Contract: Permanent
What You'll Be Doing
- Helping to prepare and deliver a varied programme of recreational, social, educational and therapeutic activities.
- Encouraging participation from people with different abilities, interests and support needs.
- Supporting people with personal care and any other support needs where required.
- Supporting people during activities, outings and community events in line with their preferences and abilities.
- Listening to the people we support to make sure activities continue to meet their needs.
- Observing and reporting any changes in wellbeing, behaviour or support needs appropriately.
- Promoting a positive, inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone involved.
- Living and promoting Cartrefi’s values and behaviours in the way activities are organised and delivered.
About You
You will be someone who enjoys working with people and is passionate about supporting others to feel included, valued and involved. You will bring kindness, patience and empathy to your work, along with the confidence to communicate clearly and build positive relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
You’ll have

- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- The ability to encourage, motivate and adapt activities to support different needs.
- Previous experience in activity coordination or within the health and social care sector is desirable
- Full UK driving licence
- Access to a vehicle insured for business use is desirable
