An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and reliable band 5 Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to join our friendly, experienced and forward thinking Hand Day Case Unit.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly specialised team providing high-quality care to patients undergoing a wide range of hand surgery procedures. We are looking for an individual who is motivated, adaptable, and committed to delivering outstanding patient care within a busy and rewarding environment.
Our Hand Day Case Unit consists of an 8-bedded Day Case Ward supporting three dedicated theatres and a recovery area , providing care for patients undergoing all aspects of hand surgery, including:
Trauma and Orthopaedic Hand Surgery
Microvascular Surgery
Plastic and Reconstructive Hand Surgery
The successful candidate will primarily provide high-quality care in the second-stage recovery area following surgery. There will also be opportunities to develop skills and experience in the perioperative environment, including participation in first-stage recovery as required.
Previous experience of working in a day case setting is preferable but not essential. Must possess excellent communication skills.
Full support and training package provided for qualified staff.
Working as part of the Multi Disciplinary Theatre team.
Work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
Ensure high standards of care in accordance with trust policies and procedures.
Provide wound care as necessary.
To assess, plan and implement recovery care in a safe caring environment in which to meet the patient’s needs.
Maintaining patients dignity throughout their care.
Provide individualised care, acting as the patient’s advocate in all matters relating to care given in a multidisciplinary environment within agreed policies and procedures.
