Full-time | 40 hours per week
Salary: £26,624 – £28,704 per year (depending on experience)
Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Pharmacy Dispenser to join our busy and well-supported community pharmacy.
This role is ideal for someone with at least 3 years’ experience who is confident in dispensing, managing workload, and supporting the wider team. You will play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the dispensing process, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Manage care home prescriptions and MAR charts
- Support end-of-month claims and service submissions
- Assist with clinical services (e.g. vaccinations, Pharmacy First)
- Work alongside the pharmacist on complex/high-risk prescriptions
- Manage stock control (ordering, audits, rotation, reducing waste)
- Monitor usage trends and workflow efficiency
- Support and mentor junior staff and apprentices
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe dispensary
- Liaise with GP practices, care homes, and other healthcare professionals
Requirements
✅ Minimum 3 years’ experience in community pharmacy
✅ Qualified Pharmacy Dispenser (NVQ Level 2 minimum, Level 3 preferred)
✅ Experience with care homes / MAR charts (desirable)
✅ Strong organisation and leadership skills
✅ Confident using PMR systems (ProScript preferred)
✅ Excellent communication and patient care skills
