Job Summary
We are looking for an individual to join us at Cardiff's newest bar and restaurant in Cardiff's beautiful Sophia Gardens. For this role, we need an individual who will be able to join the team and hit the ground running, including taking orders, running food and drinks and resetting all tables. You will need to be able to work as part of a team to provide classy yet relaxed service to all of our guests to create an unforgettable experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS (Point of Sale) systems and relay them efficiently to the kitchen staff
- Serve food and drinks promptly, ensuring presentation standards are met and guest satisfaction is prioritized
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and dining areas to uphold health and safety standards
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Address guest inquiries, resolve concerns promptly, and ensure a positive dining atmosphere
- Assist with food safety procedures, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices
Requirements
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant serving roles preferred but not required; a passion for delivering excellent guest service is essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation practices
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods
- Ability to work as part of a team in a lively environment with a positive attitude
- Basic math skills for processing payments accurately
- Kitchen or culinary experience is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is key
- Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on guest services and upselling techniques
