Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Support Worker to provide high-quality care and assistance within a care home setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting residents, particularly those requiring senior care, by promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility to promote independence.
- Assist with medication administraition, including auditing and ordering
- lead and delegate a small staff team
- Develop and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with the care team, ensuring individual needs are met effectively.
- Supervise and support residents during activities and social interactions to foster community engagement and emotional wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, observations, and any changes in residents’ conditions using IT systems.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, ensuring they feel valued and respected at all times.
- Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines and protocols.
- Drive residents to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation at all times.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues to ensure seamless care delivery.
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a care home or senior care environment is highly desirable.
- NVQ 2
- NVQ 3 or willing to work towards
- Supervising experience or leadership skills are advantageous for supporting less experienced team members.
- Valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents or running errands.
- Excellent communication skills to interact empathetically with residents, families, and team members.

- Knowledge of care plans, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety regulations relevant to senior care settings.
