Responsibilities
- Washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure they are hygienic and ready for use.
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients.
- Supporting chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods to ensure efficient workflow.
- Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, storage areas, and waste disposal areas in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Restocking supplies and ensuring all kitchen tools are stored correctly after use.
- Adhering to all food safety standards and hygiene protocols at all times to uphold the organisation’s reputation for quality.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for cleanliness and detail.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
