We are a local manufacturer specialising in toiletries and cosmetic products. As our production output continues to grow, we are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Machine Setter to join our team. In this key role, you will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and maintaining production machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation.
Working closely with the wider production team, you will play an integral role in maximising productivity, minimising downtime, and maintaining the high standards of quality expected within the cosmetics industry. All activities must be carried out in accordance with company procedures, health and safety requirements, and ISO 22716 Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines, ensuring compliance, product quality, and operational excellence.

Monitor machine performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing effective fault-finding and resolution procedures.
Configure machine settings such as speed; temperature; pressure and feed rates
Conduct machine setup, calibration, and pre-production cleaning to ensure optimal operational performance.
Start up machinery and verify correct operation before production begins.
Communicate with all relevant personnel in production regarding production requirements and issues.
Assist in the effective implementation of the production plan within the company by conducting machine change overs where necessary.
Manage the regular service requirements of our FLT; compressors and other equipment
Perform the safe preparation and setup of tooling, ensuring correct location, loading, connection, and operational readiness.
Conduct machinery standard checks; ensuring all documentation is completed relating to safety, performance, availability and quality requirements.
Perform light maintenance on any equipment; pallet trucks; ladders etc.
Adhere to company Health & Safety procedures
Key skills & experience:
Previous machine set up & operating experience in a factory environment
Ability to make timely and well-engineered resolutions to breakdowns providing a solution-focused approach
Strong attention to detail
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
Experience in the replacement of machine parts and the effective rebuilding of equipment to operational standards.
Office 365 working knowledge
Strong communication skills
Understanding of Health & Safety and ISO Quality requirements within a production environment
