Due to continued expansion, Wyndham Resources (UK) Ltd is looking to recruit an experienced Operations Assistant to support our busy Operations and Compliance teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in the waste management and recycling industry who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering accurate administration and excellent customer service.
Location: Home Based
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 2:00pm (30 hours per week)
Salary: £18.00 per hour (£28,080 per annum, pro rata equivalent based on contracted hours)
About the Role
Working closely with the Operations Director and senior management team, you will provide operational, compliance and administrative support across a variety of contracts and customers.
The successful candidate will already have a strong understanding of the waste industry and be confident managing multiple tasks while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
- Process and manage customer booking requests via email.
- Maintain machinery servicing schedules, including compactors and supplier collections.
- Update service call-out reports with initial booking information.
- Coordinate Viking Life compliance bookings, documentation and submissions.
Reporting
- Produce pallet reports for Lidl sites.
- Produce metal recycling reports for Lidl sites.
- Produce Grade B pallet reports.
- Produce newspaper and leaflet recycling reports.
- Produce customer reports for contracts including Butternut Box, Viking and other key accounts.
Compliance
- Coordinate new customer onboarding and welcome packs.
- Prepare and issue Waste Transfer Notes.
- Maintain supplier compliance documentation and chase renewals.
- Keep customer compliance folders up to date.
- Set up new suppliers within company systems.
Administration
- Provide administrative support to the management team.
- Assist with PowerPoint presentations, reports and general office administration.
- Support operational projects as the business continues to grow.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience within the waste management or recycling industry.
- Experience using waste industry booking or transport management systems.
- Good knowledge of waste streams and recycling commodities.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently from home.
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach.
Desirable
- Experience within compliance administration.
- Experience producing operational reports.
- Knowledge of Waste Transfer Notes and environmental documentation.
- Experience working with multiple customers and suppliers.
