Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Assistant for night duty to join our team in providing exceptional care within a care home setting. This role is vital in ensuring residents receive attentive support during overnight hours, promoting their safety, comfort, and well-being. Duties
- Monitor residents throughout the night, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
- Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting, repositioning, and hygiene support as needed
- Observe and record residents’ conditions, updating care plans accordingly to reflect their needs
- Respond promptly to call bells or emergencies, providing calm and effective assistance
- Maintain accurate documentation of overnight activities, incidents, and any changes in residents’ health status
- Support with light housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and safe environment
- Communicate effectively with team members and healthcare professionals regarding residents’ overnight needs
Skills
- Strong communication skills in English to interact effectively with residents and team members
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and instructions accurately
- Good IT skills for documenting observations and updating records electronically
- Valid driving license is preferred for supporting transportation needs if required
- Experience working in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not essential
- Excellent observation skills to identify changes in residents’ conditions quickly
- Reliable, compassionate, and able to work independently during night shifts
