This is not just a night role. This is full responsibility.
When the rest of the hotel sleeps, you are the face of the hotel.
From guest safety and security, to preparing the hotel for the next day, to resetting event spaces ready for the next experience, this role is critical to how we operate and how our guests feel.
If you take pride in doing things properly, staying calm under pressure, and making sure everything is exactly as it should be, this could be the role for you.
About Us
Seckford Hall Hotel & Spa is a Tudor country house set within 35 acres of Suffolk countryside.
With luxury bedrooms, a 2 AA Rosette restaurant, spa facilities, and a busy calendar of weddings and events, we are known for delivering an exceptional guest experience where Everything Matters.
The Role
As Night Porter, you will take full ownership of the hotel overnight.
You will be responsible for:
- The safety and security of all guests, staff, and the property
- Being the main point of contact for guests throughout the night
- Ensuring the hotel is clean, calm, and professionally presented at all times
- Preparing the hotel for the following day, including breakfast setup
- Cleaning down event spaces and resetting them ready for the next event or service
This is a hands-on role. You will be visible, proactive, and trusted to make decisions when it matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular security patrols across the hotel and grounds
- Monitor CCTV, alarms, and respond to any incidents or emergencies
- Liaise with emergency services where required
- Manage late check-ins, early departures, and guest requests
- Deliver room service and support guest needs overnight
- Maintain cleanliness across all public areas
- Prepare breakfast areas for service
- Clean down and reset event spaces to brand standard
- Complete night audit tasks and handovers for the morning team

- Reliable, responsible, and calm under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and high personal standards
- Confident working independently and making decisions
- Professional, well-presented, and guest-focused
- Physically capable of a hands-on role
- Previous hotel or night work experience is helpful, but not essential
