Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Junior Barrister in employment law to join our esteemed legal team on a self employed part time basis, assisting in case preparation and representation, and contributing to a wide range of legal proceedings. Responsibilities
- Represent clients in Employment Tribunal delivering oral arguments and presenting evidence effectively
- Conduct negotiations with opposing counsel to seek favourable outcomes for clients
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, affidavits, and briefs with accuracy and attention to detail
- Attend client meetings, court hearings, and conferences to gather information and provide support
- Maintain organised case files and ensure all documentation complies with regulatory standards
- Stay informed about relevant legal developments and case law that may impact ongoing cases
Qualifications
- A recognised law degree or equivalent qualification recognised within the jurisdiction
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients
- Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Demonstrated interest in litigation and courtroom advocacy
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently
- Prior experience or internships within the legal sector are advantageous but not essential
- A proactive attitude with a keen willingness to learn and develop professionally
