About The Fire Suppression Company
The Fire Suppression Company is a growing specialist contractor providing fire suppression and fire protection solutions across the UK.
We work across residential and commercial construction projects, providing specialist design, installation, commissioning and maintenance services.
As part of our continued growth, we are looking to recruit an organised and commercially minded Sales Administrator to support our sales function and help manage the increasing volume of enquiries and opportunities coming into the business.
The Role
This is a key support position within our sales team.
You will work closely with the Sales Director, Business Development Manager, estimators and wider operations team to ensure enquiries are properly recorded, progressed and followed through from initial receipt to quotation and order.
This isn't simply a general administration position. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the sales administration process and help ensure opportunities don't get missed, quotations are followed up and our sales pipeline remains accurate.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process new sales and tender enquiries
- Log and maintain enquiries within the company sales pipeline/CRM
- Review incoming enquiries and ensure the required information has been received
- Set up new customers, opportunities and projects
- Assist with preparing quotations, proposals and tender submissions
- Issue quotations and supporting documentation to customers
- Monitor outstanding quotations and coordinate follow-up activity
- Maintain accurate records of quotation values, status and expected decision dates
- Liaise with customers regarding outstanding information and tender requirements
- Manage tender portals and customer procurement systems
- Assist with PQQs, supplier questionnaires and approved-contractor applications
- Maintain customer and contact information
- Produce regular sales pipeline and enquiry reports
- Coordinate meetings and appointments for the sales team
- Support business development and customer follow-up activity
- Assist with the handover of secured projects from Sales to Operations
- Provide general administrative support to the sales and commercial teams
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicating with customers by telephone and email
- Professional and comfortable dealing with contractors and construction professionals
- Able to manage multiple enquiries and deadlines simultaneously
- Competent using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Comfortable learning CRM and tender-management systems
- Proactive and able to work without constant supervision
- Commercially aware and interested in how opportunities progress into orders
- Reliable and able to take ownership of their responsibilities
- Keen to develop their career as the company grows
Previous experience within construction, M&E, fire protection, estimating, tender administration or sales administration would be advantageous but is not essential.
What We Offer
- £28,000 annual salary
- Permanent full-time position
- Early finish every Friday – 2:30pm
- Company pension
- 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays
- Modern office environment
- Training and development
- Opportunity to progress within the sales and commercial team
- Exposure to both residential and major commercial construction projects
- Opportunity to join a growing specialist contractor at an important stage of its development
Career Progression
We see this as a role that can develop as the business grows.
For the right person, there will be opportunities to progress throughout the buisiness.
The eventual direction will depend on the individual's strengths, performance and ambitions.

If you're organised, commercially minded and looking for a role where you can develop rather than remain in a traditional administration position, we'd like to hear from you.
